About the Fashion Design Program

Drexel's top-flight Fashion Design major is a studio-based, boutique-style undergraduate program that trains the next generation of creative thinkers for the fashion industry. The program is ranked in the top four in the United States and 14th in the world. Students in Drexel's Fashion Design program study alongside dynamic educators with extensive industry experience, produce innovative designs in well-equipped studios, and participate in Drexel's world-renowned co-op and study abroad programs. Fashion Design majors are housed in the URBN Center, with access to high-tech equipment such as 3-D printers, laser cutters, Shima Seiki knitting machines, and advanced design software and platforms.

Job Summary

The Department of Fashion Design seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach FASH 319: CLO 3D Virtual Garment Simulation, an advanced online synchronous course that explores digital draping, motion-based garment testing, and sustainable 3D workflows using CLO software. The instructor will conduct weekly live Zoom sessions, guide students through technical and design challenges, and provide feedback on virtual prototypes. This part-time adjunct position is scheduled for Fridays from 9:00 AM - 2:50 PM (ET) during the Fall 2025 quarter.

Essential Functions



  • Teach and support students in developing 3D fashion design skills using CLO software
  • Lead demonstrations and troubleshooting sessions via Zoom (live or pre-recorded)
  • Provide feedback on students' simulated garments and pattern work
  • Guide students through technical and aesthetic digital garment creation
  • Maintain course materials, communication, and grading in line with program goals
  • Facilitate inclusive critiques to support diverse learning and design development


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in CLO 3D and garment patternmaking
  • Experience with fabric simulation, digital fitting, and avatar-based testing
  • Experience teaching or training in remote learning environments (Zoom, LMS)
  • Strong communication skills and design mentoring abilities


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree or significant industry experience in 3D garment design
  • Experience teaching or mentoring advanced design students at the college level
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in fashion and digital workflows
  • Experience developing garments for virtual production or digital runway
