Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, termination, and testing of low voltage cabling systems in large commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working on aerial lifts, pulling and routing Cat 5/6 cables, and performing other duties associated with structured cabling and low voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities: * Install, route, and terminate low voltage cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, coaxial, fiber optic, etc.) in commercial/industrial settings. * Operate aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other elevated work platforms safely and efficiently. * Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams to determine cable routing and installation requirements. * Perform cable testing and certification using appropriate tools and equipment. * Label and document all installed cabling according to company standards. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and OSHA regulations. * Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate installations. * Troubleshoot and repair low voltage systems as needed. * Assist in the installation of related systems such as access control, CCTV, and audio/video infrastructure. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications (e.g., BICSI, OSHA 10/30, manufacturer-specific training) preferred. * Minimum 2 years of experience in low voltage cabling installation in commercial or industrial environments. * Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and cable testing equipment. * Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. * Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and practices. * Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. Preferred Skills: * Experience with fiber optic cable installation and termination. * Familiarity with access control, surveillance, and AV systems. * Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
