Reputation is the leader in Online Reputation Management. Our mission is to sift through the vast amounts of information about our customers, captured through surveys, reviews, and other sources, to derive actionable insights and tangible business results for our clients.

Role Overview: As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to this mission by developing algorithms to extract insights from customer feedback and building models to measure their value. You will also assist in creating data products based on these models.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as an embedded strategic partner with product, engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams to identify and evaluate growth opportunities using data.

  • Problem Reframing: Translate business requests into more impactful inquiries that address the core needs and add strategic value.

  • Data Modeling: Develop machine learning models to solve business problems, such as lead scoring and customer churn prediction, and apply statistical techniques to inform product development.

  • End-to-End Model Lifecycle: Participate in the data science lifecycle from problem formulation and data collection to model deployment and monitoring, including handling model drift and retraining.

  • Use of Advanced Tools: Utilize machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn, demonstrating the ability to select appropriate tools based on project requirements.

  • API Integration: Interface with APIs, including those for large language models, to integrate AI functionalities into business applications.

  • Data Platform Proficiency: Perform SQL queries and leverage data platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure for data storage, processing, and model training.

  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct exploratory analysis to answer urgent business questions and solve unforeseen problems, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in using machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

  • Statistical and Modeling Expertise: Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, and the ability to apply them to real-world business challenges.

  • Cloud Platform Experience: Competency in working with cloud-based data services (AWS, GCP, Azure) for data analysis, storage, and model deployment.

  • API Utilization: Familiarity with integrating external AI services through APIs, including prompt engineering for large language models.

  • Problem Solving and Insight Extraction: Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex data problems and extract business insights.

  • Communication and Storytelling: Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex data findings into actionable business insights for various audiences.

  • Industry Experience: At least one year of experience working with industry data, demonstrating practical application of data science principles in a business context.

  • Adaptability and Curiosity: Willingness to explore new challenges beyond formal job duties and quickly adapt to evolving business needs.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with NLP/text analytics such as spaCY, BERTopic, FastTopic.

  • Hands-on experience applying Large Language Models to solve problems. This could range from using frameworks like Hugging Face Transformers for NLP tasks to building more advanced applications with various LLM frameworks.

  • Familiarity with model interpretability techniques (e.g., SHAP, LIME) and an awareness of ethical considerations in AI, such as fairness and bias.
