The IIoT Technical Development Specialist is responsible for designing and developing IIoT solutions from concept to implementation, integrating both VEGA and third-party hardware/software to meet the defined application requirements of each project. What you'll do: Engage with field sales and customers to gather solution requirements, system architectures, etc. Develop, configure, and integrate IIoT solutions including sensors, edge devices, gateways, and cloud platforms. Develop and deliver proof-of-concepts and demonstrations to showcase solution capabilities. Provide technical support during pre-sales and post-sales phases, including site visits, installations, and troubleshooting. Assist sales and business development teams to create technical proposals. Develop documentation such as system specifications and collaborate with other team members to develop training materials. Document technical processes, write basic user guides, and help maintain project records, training materials Train customers and internal teams on solution deployment, configuration, and maintenance. Stay up to date with IIoT technologies, tools, and best practices. Work with outside vendors. Must be willing to travel up to 25% What you need: Bachelors or Associate's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering/Technology, Automation Engineering or other related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong problem-solving skills with a desire for learning new technologies. Detail-oriented, with an appreciation for documenting processes and following established internal business systems. Highly organized, able to remain focused and productive in dynamic or distracting environments. Basic knowledge of networking concepts and industrial communication protocols is a plus (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA, LoRa). Familiarity with cloud-based platforms. Some experience with programming languages like Python, C#, or JavaScript is a plus. Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, PLCs, or industrial automation systems gained through coursework or hands on projects.
