About the Role
Culmen International is currently seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to support the Defense Health Agency Implementation Science Support and Services contract in Silver Spring, MD.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
Strategy Development: Develop and implement communications plans for a military health program and related clinical implementation projects, aligned with organizational objectives.
- Content Creation and Management: Develop and manage content across various internal and external channels. Position requires a strong mix of graphic design, product development, and technical writing.
- Content Oversight: Ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of materials. Demonstrate exceptional copy-editing skills, and attention to detail.
- Team Leadership: Lead a small communications team. Position requires a strong ability to organize a product portfolio, provide strategic and tactical guidance for the team, and work cross-functionally with subject matter experts.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrate comfort with/briefing out to stakeholders at all levels (e.g., high-level leadership, client, stakeholder groups).
- Organization and Performance Measurement: Organize and track a high volume of time-bound product deliveries. Track and analyze communication efforts to assess effectiveness of strategies and tactics.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Change Management Professional certification (Certification within 30 days).
- Relevant degrees or certificates in Implementation Science or related Translational Sciences are beneficial, but not required.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience applying dissemination and implementation frameworks and leading practices in the DHA or MHS.
Knowledge:
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently to effectively communicate. Can enunciate with sufficient clarity to be readily understood.
- Sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate constructively to a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent time management and communication skills; able to work in a team environment and concurrently support several active projects.
- Proficient with office equipment (e.g., computers, multi-line telephone system, voicemail, facsimile, copier, printers), as well as business software for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and email communications. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Desired Qualifications
Candidate should be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail; be able to distill complex information in a fluid environment into user-friendly products; communicate clearly and strategically with key clients.
