Project Engineer - Engineering Systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage theengineering attribute schemaacross SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, ensuring consistency, traceability, and usability.
• Define and maintainattribute rules, mappings, and linkagesbetween CAD models, PDM metadata, and CPQ systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and IT teams to ensure accurate and timely data flow between design and quoting platforms.
• Lead projects to enhance SolidWorks and PDM workflows, including automation, template standardization, and lifecycle management.
• Support and improve the integration between SolidWorks PDM and CPQ tools, ensuring that product configurations and options are accurately represented.
• Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and best practices for attribute and system management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CAD data, PDM workflows, and attribute synchronization.
• Stay current with SolidWorks and PDM updates, and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM in a professional engineering environment.
• Experience with CPQ systems and their integration with engineering data (e.g., Tacton, Salesforce CPQ, or similar).

Skills:

• Deep understanding of SolidWorks configurations, custom properties, and design automation.
• Strong knowledge of PDM workflows, data cards, and attribute mapping.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PDM API, VBA, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP integration and BOM management.
• Knowledge of product configuration logic and rules-based systems.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
• Certifications in SolidWorks (CSWP/CSWE) or PDM administration.
