This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
We are seeking dynamic Manufacturing Engineers to join our Operations team at Blue Origin. In this pooled role, you will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure stringent quality control throughout production, and optimize supply chain logistics specific to Production/Operations. As a core member of our lunar manufacturing team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional partners to streamline operations, reduce costs, and advance production timelines-directly contributing to Blue Origin's continued innovation and excellence in aerospace engineering.
This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams, shifts, and locations. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified.

Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, structures, and lunar hardware. Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) of critical components and assemblies. Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support our mission to build a road to space. Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans. Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods such as composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, and advanced assembly. Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability and performance. Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001). Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment. Identify and execute opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.

The Lunar Operations Core Components Manufacturing Engineering team ensures the successful transformation of complex lunar system designs into manufacturable, high-reliability products. You'll innovate tooling, equipment, and systems that convert raw materials into mission-ready hardware capable of withstanding the challenges of the lunar environment.
This pooled requisition covers roles with specialties in:
Avionics Hardware:Manufacturing internally fabricated controllers, cameras, radar systems, and antennas. Tooling & Ground Support Equipment:Designing and building internal tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment to enable advanced manufacturing and assembly. Structures & Mechanisms:Supporting structural hardware, mechanisms, and assembly processes for lunar applications. Advanced Manufacturing Technologies:Implementing practices like composites, additive manufacturing, and advanced metrology.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions Able to work second shift and flexible to move shifts or support extended hours as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering experience within aerospace or other high-reliability industries Hands-on fabrication and assembly experience (especially relevant to avionics, structures, mechanisms, or tooling) Working understanding of mechanical design and GD&T Experience with Bill-of-Materials (BOM) and BOM reconciliation Familiarity with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) Master's degree (relevant field) Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and EVMS experience Experience in designing, building, commissioning, and troubleshooting tooling, fixtures, and automation systems Knowledge of fabrication processes (machining, welding, composites and assembly) Familiarity with PLM/MRP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, etc.) Involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI), IPT requirements generation, and Interface Control Model (ICM) development Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with teams, customers, and suppliers Experience with manufacturing automation, digital work instructions, and advanced metrology (CMM, laser scanning) Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced production environment Demonstrated commitment to world-class mission assurance, quality, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction
Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $73,095.00-$102,333.00
