Job Description:

Position Summary:

The System Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The incumbent is responsible for participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The System Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deploy, support, and maintain workstations, telecommunications, networking, servers and systems, phone systems, mobile devices and other related equipment, devices and systems.
  • Provides second-tier support to service desk for user issues and completing service requests.
  • Aid in taking help desk calls as needed.
  • Proactively maintain system o patching for vulnerability management.
  • Adheres to programs for Incident, Problem, and Change management.
  • Investigates user problems and identifies their source, determines possible solutions, tests and implements solutions.
  • Troubleshoots networks, servers, and systems to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures/guidelines for support and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for monitoring the Network Operation Center (NOC) to ensure system and network performance meets prescribed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and proactively identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to develop and maintain end user documentation and training materials.
  • Monitor and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure to ensure high availability of enterprise services IT supports.
  • Develop internal systems tools and utilities for operating, monitoring, and reporting on the performance, availability, continuity, capacity, and security of the infrastructure.
  • Support Departmental, Business Units, and Enterprise initiatives and projects.
  • Develop automated recurring tasks to assist with day-to-day operations of the credit union.
  • Support and monitor the financial core services.
  • Perform tasks outside of regular business hours as required and provide on-call support as scheduled.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required for the growth and advancement of Everwise.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Operating Systems and MS Office applications.
  • Basic working knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
  • Data entry skills, mathematical and logical aptitude and general interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service standards and behaviors, as well as encourages, coaches and monitors the same peers. Consistently promotes teamwork and direct communication with team members and be able to function independently as well as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Information Technology or Microsoft Certification with equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years' experience in administrator experience in three or more of the following areas:
    • Windows Servers
    • Active Directory
    • Azure AD
    • Exchange On-Prem
    • Exchange Online
    • Windows PCs
    • Mac
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and positively influences team culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, pay strict attention to detail, and multitask across multiple projects.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with banking/financial systems including core processing systems, ATMs, debit/credit networks, internet/mobile banking applications.
  • SQL administration
  • Network administration
  • Linux administration
  • Mac administration
  • ITIL foundation certification or knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Lean IT and Agile principles.
  • SCCM and/or Intune experience.
  • Orion SolarWinds experience.
  • ServiceNow experience.
  • OpCon or other Automation workflow experience.
