Position Summary

The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting field surveys, preparing accurate maps and reports, and supporting project teams with precise measurements. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure that all work aligns with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Perform field surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment to collect accurate data on site conditions.
  • Prepare detailed maps, sketches, and reports to support project planning, design, and construction.
  • Assist engineers and project managers in interpreting survey data for projects.
  • Establish and maintain project control points, benchmarks, and reference points for construction activities.
  • Monitor construction work to verify compliance with design specifications and permit requirements.
  • Maintain survey equipment, ensuring proper calibration and accurate functioning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide timely and accurate survey data for decision-making.
  • Adhere to safety policies, environmental regulations, and company standards during all field operations.


Basic Qualifications



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a surveyor in civil, geotechnical, or environmental construction projects.
  • Proficiency in surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, levels) and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS).
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, topographic mapping, and land measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local surveying regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in varied weather and terrain conditions.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office and field hybrid role requires frequent computer use and effective communication. Site work may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
