Location:

Palmer, AK (ALALP) - Acetylene production & filling How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Responsible for loading and unloading cylinders, and performing cylinder maintenance using blasting,
painting and using valves on equipment. Performs quality control, maintenance and safety inspection of
cylinders.

Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective
equipment. Attends monthly safety meetings. Ensures any accident or injury is promptly reported.
* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get
along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
* Loads and unloads cylinders on vehicles using forklift.
* Responsible for documenting the specific type and the precise quantity of acetylene cylinders that
are handled, processed, or stored within the production facility.
* Examines returned cylinders for surface defects.
* Performs calibration check of scale for accuracy at the beginning of each work shift. Records the
calibration on the designated scale sheet.
* Operates and safely maintains equipment for compressing acetylene gas into cylinders.
* Keeps all work areas clean and free of unneeded cylinders and equipment.
* Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA, DOT, EPA) requirements are met and applicable training
and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.
* Operates safely and maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders.
* Performs minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling.
* Uses standard pre-fill and post-fill inspections, tests, and operating procedures before cylinders are
released by following the most current SOP.
* Regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and associated pressure gauges and monitoring
devices used in daily activities.
* Fill cylinders or containers to proper capacity and accurately maintain cylinder filling records and
ensure that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal
regulations.
* Complete daily fill sheets and cylinder filling records accurately and timely.
* Complete and attach warning and other identification tags, labels and decals to cylinders.
* Conduct periodic checks of the plant / warehouse for safe and efficient operation.
* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Required Education
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Length and Type of Experience
* Must be able to operate forklift in a safe manner and maintain appropriate forklift certifications.

* Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
* Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet the production schedules.
* May be exposed to noise or vibrations, hazards, potential explosives, burns electrical or other fumes,
mist, dust, odors or gas. Will be around moving machinery and equipment on uneven ground with
varying conditions and layouts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The characteristics listed below are representative of the physical demands required by an individual to
successfully perform the essential duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

* Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 110 degrees.
* Ability to perform very heavy work, routinely lift, push, pull, carry 50+ pounds and occasionally lift
76 to greater than 100 pounds. May occasionally stoop, bend, couch, crawl, twist, kneel or squat up
to 33% of the day.
