In the Applied AI Intern position, you'll work at the intersection of full-stack development and AI, building intelligent applications that transform healthcare delivery. You'll join an AI-first technology team prototyping, experimenting with, and delivering AI-powered features. You'll learn to balance rapid innovation with meaningful customer outcomes, and leverage your entrepreneurial spirit to build, strategize, and solve problems.

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Design and build AI-powered prototypes built on emerging technology frameworks.

  • Create MVPs and proofs-of-concept with potential for core product feature implementation.

  • Partner with product teams to identify AI opportunities in existing workflows.

  • Develop full-stack applications that integrate emerging technology at scale.

  • Build with modern frameworks (React, Node.js, Python, etc.) while prioritizing rapid iteration.

  • Write production-quality code and design scalable APIs connecting models to user interfaces.

  • Develop data pipelines and tools that enhance analytical products and infrastructure.

  • Deliver end-to-end features independently from database to UI.

  • Deploy applications using cloud services (AWS) with cost and performance optimization in mind.

  • Research emerging AI technologies and contribute to internal best practices.

  • Present technical demonstrations and product concepts to stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a related field, or equivilant self-directed learning (i.e. online courses, certifications, bootcamps, personal projects)

  • Demonstrated full-stack development experience (React, Node.js, Python).

  • Hands-on AI/ML project experience using foundation models.

  • Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during breaks.

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Portfolio of end-to-end projects with AI features.

  • Side projects demonstrating product thinking and user-centered design.

  • Previous start-up experience or entrepreneurial initiatives.
