The Role

Medallia is seeking a Senior FP&A Manager to join our Finance team, with a focus on our Professional Services (PS) business. This role will lead strategic financial planning, forecasting, and performance optimization to support the growth and profitability of our PS organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical leader with exceptional business acumen, capable of partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will translate complex data into actionable insights, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision-making to align with company-wide objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Collaborate with PS leadership to develop and execute an annual operating plan, focused on revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Own end-to-end financial planning, including annual budgeting, monthly/quarterly forecasting, and weekly flash reporting for the PS P&L (revenue, cost of sales, headcount, opex, and cash flow).
  • Revenue & Margin Optimization: Partner with PS teams to enhance billable utilization, optimize workforce planning, and drive profitability through data-driven initiatives.
    Workforce Modeling: Oversee headcount planning and resource allocation, leveraging key metrics such as billable utilization, bill-to-pay ratio, and revenue per head.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze monthly financial results, ensure accurate reporting, and prepare executive-level reports for quarterly Board and leadership presentations.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Monitor performance against plan, proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • KPI Development & Tracking: Establish and report on key PS metrics, including Revenue Growth, Billable Utilization, Project Profitability, Cost of Sales %, and Accounts Receivable Days (DSO).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and including vlookup, pivot tables, and building complex financial models.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle, or similar platforms).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Professional Services finance, including revenue forecasting and recognition (ASC 606)
  • Experience in FP&A roles at public or private equity-owned companies, with exposure to investor reporting.
  • Background in high-growth, B2B, SaaS, or enterprise environments.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • Proven ability to build dashboards using Salesforce, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Strong business partnering skills with a track record of influencing senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace and adapt to change.

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is USD $126,400 - $209,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
