Job Summary Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is offering collaborative, energetic, community-oriented candidates the opportunity to become a full-time Teen Services Librarian at the Rust Library in Leesburg, VA. As a member of an enthusiastic team, Teen Services Librarians: Provide direct customer service in reference, reader's advisory, programming and circulation functions. Assist customers in the use of library resources and technologies. Work in a collaborative environment with other staff to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. Plan and lead programs for Teens. Conduct outreach and create partnerships with community organizations. Successful candidates will be passionate, creative team players with excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess strong multi-tasking, organizational and technology skills. All staff work in a collaborative environment to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. LCPL provides services seven (7) days a week. Work schedules vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays. This position requires occasional participation in After Hours Teen Center, an event for students in Grades 6-12 that occurs every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Learn more: library.loudoun.gov/AHTC Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited school; six (6) months of related library experience. Some supervisory experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred. Loudoun County provides a language stipend for individuals who pass a language proficiency test.
