Supervisor, Supply Chain Distribution

Summary:

In this role, you will manage daily receiving and shipping activities at hospital locations, off site locations and receiving areas. You will ensure optimal level of customer service and serve as a liaison between supply chain, clinical departments, and finance. You will manage all stock and non-stock product returns including coordination of vendor credits and product exchanges. You will establish daily work schedules and productivity standards for Materials Management staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the receiving and distribution functions, along with verifying information entered into the materials management and package tracking system is accurate.
  • Monitor the schedule of deliveries, ensuring items are received on a timely basis from vendors, including remote receiving for capital purchases.
  • Survey inventory for accurate stock rotation, product expirations and joint commission standards.
  • Perform periodic inventory of all stock supplies in specified areas.
  • Coordinate annual physical inventory with Director of Supply Chain Logistics on a predetermined schedule.
  • Manage bar coding system for Inventory Management/ Distribution and generates reports to management as required.
  • Ensure compliance with prescribed equipment maintenance schedules, conducts daily visual inspection of all equipment and vehicles, maintains database of department volume and productivity statistics.
  • Respond to customers via the phone, e-mail, or pager requesting stock items.
  • Coordinate the orientation and training of new staff in safety education and training on materials management software.
  • Develop and recommend the budgets for the areas managed.
  • Ensure that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience in inventory management required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products is required.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in use of Materials Management Information Systems is preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $59,600.00 to $101,200.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
