Job Title:Lead Worker (Shipfitter)

Location:Pascagoula, MS

Job Overview:TheLead Worker (Shipfitter)supervises the activities of a group of hourly welders.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process.
• Performs tank testing and associated duties as required.

Experience:

• At least Five (5) years of assembly/prefab Shipfitter experience. Prior supervision experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of welding-specific processes and techniques in addition to being familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction.
• Experience in structural fabrication and the ability to read/understand drawings is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, work well with others, and have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks
• Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed.
