Maintenance Technician Hourly-Production

At Bell Nursery Ohio the Maintenance Technicianassists the facility Head Grower and Lead Maintenance Technician everyday by completing assigned tasks. The maintenance tech participates in safety initiatives encompassing all facility equipment and processes to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of employees at the site. They will help with overall maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements to the facility including repairs to production equipment, greenhouse structures, and general housekeeping of the facility. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and fix various mechanical, electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs. Training will be provided for a qualified applicant.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Completes all assigned tasks provided by Head Grower and Lead Maintenance Technician
• Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant equipment as assigned by Head Grower and Lead Maintenance Technician.
• Communicates daily progressto Lead Maintenance Technician regarding tasks/assignments.

Skills & Competencies:

• General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends regularly and ability to be on call - especially during peak season.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to drive maintenance equipment-- forklifts,bobcats, electric carts (willing to get certifications as needed).

Requirements:

• General knowledge of carpentry, power equipment and hand tools.
• Basic Electrical Experience, Basicplumbing, Experience working with PVC, and carpentry repairs.
• Ability to effectively use smart phone technology, including use of apps, email, text, etc.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to perform under minimal supervision
• Ability to listen, learn new skills and follow directions.
• Bilingual in Spanish highly desired butnot required.
