Senior Quote Specialist - Critical Infrastructure

Job Summary

Lead and oversee the quoting process for estimators' takeoffs and customer lists, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic business goals. Serve as a key technical advisor to the Critical Infrastructure Group, providing advanced product knowledge and innovative solutions to complex challenges. Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Collaborate cross-functionally with estimating, and Pre-bid manager to drive customer satisfaction and deliver high-impact results. Maintain a high standard of customer service while ensuring all proposals are delivered with precision and professionalism.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Lead and oversee pricing strategy for items across Core & Main's scope of work on contractor projects, ensuring alignment with specifications, customer requirements, and internal deadlines.
• Direct the preparation of formal quotations and submittals, providing guidance to estimators and the sales team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Review and authorize quote revisions and pricing updates in response to project addendums and scope changes.
• Prioritize incoming RFQs collaborating with Estimating Manager and Pre-bid Manager to ensure precision and responsiveness.
• Support and mentor the quote specialist team driving timely and strategic quote delivery.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex inquiries related questions offering expert-level guidance and resolution.
• Identify and implement process improvements in the quotation workflow, leveraging data and stakeholder feedback to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with quote specialist team and manufacturing partners to support long-term business growth and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Generally, 8+ years of experience in the waterworks industry
• Experience preparing and pricing quotes for contractors, preferably on large heavy/civil and/or treatment plant projects
• Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications as needed during the process of preparing customer quotations

Environmental Job Requirements

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Pay: $58,204.12 - $83,148.75 per year
