Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our complex family planning team. The LPN will play an integral role in delivering patient-centered care within the sensitive and often emotionally charged context of reproductive health. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and providers, the LPN will provide clinical support, patient education, and administrative coordination to ensure high-quality, compassionate care for individuals navigating complex reproductive health decisions.

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in support of, and as directed by, the physician. Observes, conducts, and documents a thorough assessment of patient's medical status during entire course of treatment.

Job Responsibility

Provide safe and effective nursing care within the scope of LPN practice, including vital signs assessment, medication administration (as permitted), and assisting with procedures.

Support providers in the delivery of reproductive health services, including contraceptive counseling, pre- and post-procedure care, pregnancy options counseling, and reproductive health screenings.

Maintain a respectful, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment for patients, recognizing the emotional and personal nature of family planning decisions.

Educate patients on care plans, medications, and follow-up needs, reinforcing provider instructions.

Assist with administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, documentation, and coordination of patient care across services.

Uphold strict confidentiality and sensitivity in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote seamless, holistic, and patient-centered care.

  • Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in support of, and as directed by, the physician.
  • Administer medications and document therapeutic effects.
  • Observes, conducts, and documents a thorough assessment of patient's medical status during entire course of treatment.
  • Responsible for performing assigned back-office duties and rotating as a telephone triage nurse in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or of a Nursing Vocational or Nursing Technical school required.
  • Current License to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • Preferred experience in patients navigating complex family planning decisions.
  • Preferred experience in referrals and connecting patients with community resources and support services
  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education related to reproductive health is preferred
