Description

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time BC/BE Psychiatrist for their psychiatric Partial Hospital Program in Brunswick.

The Intensive Outpatient & Partial Hospitalization Program bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient programs, providing an alternative to hospitalization for mentally ill people who require more intensive treatment than outpatient office visits, but less restrictive than 24-hour inpatient care. Individual treatment planning, with specific tracks and lengths of stay to address goal attainment, is provided by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers and nurses. Treatment is focused on group therapy activities and skills acquisition, and clients are taught how to manage emotions, distorted thinking patterns, and belief systems that contribute to their emotional distress. Wellness and stress relief are also addressed, with the goal of reducing psychiatric symptoms to prevent inpatient hospitalization.

The selected candidate will lead the interdisciplinary team, perform psychiatric evaluations, follow up with psychiatric management, and direct care of patients. Candidates will work together with primary care clinicians and a psychiatric nurse in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
