The Role

Amphenol North American Military Group is seeking a Group EHS Director. The Group EHS Director is a critical operational leader supporting 11 manufacturing businesses across more than 20 North American locations. Each business is independently led by a General Manager with its own operations and EHS teams. This role ensures consistent EHS performance, facilitates best practice sharing, and mitigates operational risk. The Director will work closely with site-level teams, other Group functions (e.g., HR, Legal, Quality, Engineering, Procurement), and the corporate EHS team, with a strong focus on frontline execution, rapid issue resolution, and operational continuity.



  • Serve as the primary EHS advisor to the Group GM, providing actionable insight into risk, compliance, and incident response.
  • Support and challenge General Managers and their teams to uphold and exceed EHS standards, with full compliance to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative network among EHS leaders across the businesses.
  • Monitor and assess site-level EHS performance; address gaps and help deploy corrective actions.
  • Lead rapid response and recovery efforts for serious incidents or emerging EHS risks.
  • Respond to customer and stakeholder inquiries regarding EHS and sustainability performance or strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Group-level functions including HR, Legal, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement to align on compliance, strategy, and risk management.
  • Champion a culture of EHS and sustainability excellence, continuous improvement, and operational resilience.
  • Act as a change agent to elevate safety culture, strengthen environmental stewardship, and embed sustainability principles into everyday operations.
  • Lead or support EHS audits, training programs, and regulatory preparedness initiatives.



Salary: $135,000 - $165,000

The Person

The education, experience, key skills, and attributes needed for this position:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting or interfacing with plating operations or chemical processes; deeper knowledge of chemistry or chemical engineering is a strong plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant North American regulations.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead across decentralized organizations.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to manufacturing sites across North America.
