It is truly an experience that is unparalleled by any other biomedical research institution. You will be well prepared to pursue advanced degrees or careers here over time.

Research Associates' responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Validate provided technical protocols, test improved wet lab, instrumentation, and computational approaches for improved application performance
  • Work on independent and collaborative research projects, assist with lab experiments, and learn new techniques
  • Partner with lab members to design, conduct, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments Interface and collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and computational experts at the Broad and with external partners
  • Learn how to troubleshoot with support from your mentor to resolve problems and participate in new technology evaluation, development and implementation
  • Maintain meticulous records, analyze results, and communicate your work during team meetings
  • Join regular lab meetings, contribute to team discussions, support broader research goals, and potentially contribute to publications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least a current undergraduate senior with an expected graduation date of ~Dec. 2025 or ~May 2026
  • Majored in any life science, biology, chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering or similar degree program
  • At least 1 year of undergraduate independent research exposure that comes from extracurricular engagements (outside of coursework)
  • Can commit to staying with the Broad for at least two years
  • The Research Associate I role will accept Optional Practical Training (OPT). Candidates should have at least 24 months of OPT. It is recommended that you speak with your current or former school's immigration services team to learn more about processing timelines.
Candidates interested in the Broad Biomedical Post-Baccalaureate Scholars Program (BBPS) should complete an ECR application to begin the process. Visit the BBPS page for more details for application process and deadlines. Please note that the BBPS admissions process is separate from the ECR hiring process. Receiving a job offer does not guarantee admission into BBPS, but in order to be admitted to BBPS, you must have a job offer from a research group at the Broad Institute.
What to expect next:
Please allow 10 minutes to complete the initial application process as it needs to be completed in one sitting. We will ask for your CV/resume and responses to a short questionnaire. If you advance to next steps, you will then receive an email request to complete an on-demand interview as the first step in the interview process and will also let you know about current lab openings. Those responses will be reviewed by our recruiting team and possible next steps will be communicated via email.
