Introduction:

The Wireless SME provides expert-level technical knowledge and strategic analysis of highly specialized wireless applications and operational environments. This role supports high-level systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation guidance for exceptionally complex wireless systems. The SME participates in all phases of system development, with a strong emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and stakeholder presentation.

This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for wireless enclave technologies across Federal Government environments.

  • Advise on the design, validation, and implementation of wireless systems including:

    • Cellular (including 5G)

    • Wi-Fi

    • UHF, HF, VHF

    • Bluetooth

    • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

    • Wireless Intrusion Detection Systems (WIDS)

    • Wireless Intrusion Prevention Systems (WIPS)

    • Satellite Communications

  • Conduct and complete wireless site surveys and heatmap generation using tools such as iBwave.

  • Provide expert guidance on wireless design, model tuning, and design augmentation decisions.

  • Resolve spectrum interference issues using tools such as Ekahau.

  • Lead RF planning and contribute to wireless policy and architecture design.

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Stay current with emerging wireless technologies and applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Federal Government wireless enclave environments.

  • Proven expertise in wireless system design, validation, and troubleshooting across a wide range of technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with wireless survey tools (e.g., iBwave, Ekahau).

  • Strong understanding of RF planning, spectrum management, and wireless security systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidates will be required to undergo a polygraph examination post-hire.

Preferred Skills:

  • Industry certifications in wireless technologies (e.g., CWNP, Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer).

  • Experience with wireless policy development and compliance frameworks.

  • Familiarity with emerging wireless standards and technologies.
