This is an intensive training program in the UVA General Ultrasound lab specifically designed for ultrasound students currently in a formal Ultrasound Degree Program. There will be specially designed scanning and departmental competency and checkpoints at hire, 90 days and 6 months. Upon successful completion of these competencies and surpassing each checkpoint, the internship could be extended up to one calendar year at which time the intern will receive an offer to become a full or part time employee of the General Ultrasound lab, depending on availability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard).Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
