The Maintenance Team Leader demonstrates a customer focus through support for Operations, Materials, and Maintenance. This individual will use Visual Controls, Standardized Work, Training, and Escalation to identify, and resolve, a line out of standard conditions. The Maintenance Team Leader will provide direct support for Maintenance Team Members' roles and responsibilities. This individual will lead the execution of the daily production requirements, drive ownership, resolve Production line-related downtime with a sense of urgency, and prevent future downtime occurrences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead Safety performance of the Maintenance team, modeling safety behaviors, and PPE requirements, and mentoring/training Team Members (TM) on safety concepts.

* Communicate Safety near misses, and safety compliance issues (PPE), to Supervisor on an ongoing basis.

* Develop standardized work for maintenance activities, with a focus on job plans develop for infrequent at-risk jobs (Safety and Quality).

* Lead Start of Shift Team Meetings / next shift hand-offs (expected 15 min overlap)

* Manage Maintenance crew through shift including breaks, lunch, standardized work, and staffing required /escalate gaps to supervision as required.

* Develop/revise standard work (SOPs) for Maintenance team members. Train all existing and new trades as required.

* Train team members and develop and maintain Flex training charts for key training initiatives.

* Using the Flex training charts, develop a versatility plan for the trades team through a detailed training plan for both internal SMEs and outside vendor training.

* Support implementation of improvement projects and Team Member and team ideas

* Ensure problem-solving is used effectively in Maintenance and Maintenance supports production team problem-solving activities.

* Perform layered audits, monitor completion of non-conformances (Gemba walks), and escalate when necessary.

* Plan TPM (Preventative Maintenance) thru planned downtime and weekend activities (may require OT as needed).

* Actively assist in performing maintenance tasks as assigned to the team and/or during high calls or backlog times.

* Fill in for missing maintenance team members as required.

* Work with Production Team Leaders to schedule maintenance activities during all available opportunities (PM checks, Engineering work orders, etc.).

* Track and ensure completion of all maintenance activities, track all required maintenance metrics once developed such as MTTR (mean time to repair), MTTF (mean time to failure), and first-time good repairs.

* Know the Maintenance quality standards required for the team.

* Ensure materials and job plans for upcoming maintenance work (weekend, shutdowns, projects, etc.) are available and kitted to ensure timely completion of tasks. All planned work should have a startup plan to ensure proper product quality and throughput from part 1.

* Raise concerns/escalate issues as required using the escalation process to Supervisor or other Diversey leadership.

* Perform 6S tasks and lead continuous improvement of workplace organization.

* Follow the standard daily routine and support the organization to achieve team and business goals on a daily basis.

* Maintain regular communication with the team, cross-shifts, and supervisors. T/L to create and issue an end-of-shift maintenance report.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience working in a Chemical Plant environment.

* Experience as a maintenance technician. Strong collaboration and influencing skills.

* Ability to communicate effectively.

* Ability to problem solve.

* The nature of work will involve work outside of standard shifts and/or weekends, including overtime.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior Team Lead experience preferred

The expected compensation range for this position is between $0.00 and $999,999,999.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
