  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Manager will support the Mission, Vision and Values of the UT Health Organization. Its purposes is to lead with practical solutions correlated with the movement of Sterile Processing and provide the guidance necessary to support the Sterile Processing Services Team.

  • Analyze data to develop ideas and support decisions relevant to the delivery of Sterile Processing.
  • Employ Strategies to promote workplace safety and health in the sterile processing areas.
  • Guide quality improvement of sterile processing services using key indicators.
  • Support and Integrate current evidence into sterile processing services.
  • Provide guidance and coordinate education and competency verification activities for sterile processing personnel regarding professional guidelines, recommended practices and accreditation standards pertinent to sterile processing services.
  • Maintain Records to document ongoing educational and competency verification activities of Sterile Processing Personnel.
  • Manage Sterile Processing services operationally and fiscally.
  • Provide guidance, support and constructive feedback to sterile processing services team.
  • Ensure that sufficient sterile processing services team members, equipment, and supplies are available.
  • Evaluate sterile processing services team member performance.
  • Ensure SPD team members compliance with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards and professional guidelines.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Two (2) years of sterile processing management or specialty team lead experience
  • Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
