The Financial Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. This position is responsible for managing a broad spectrum of fiscal activities including budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, compliance, and strategic financial analysis across multiple fund types such as general, research, development, academic enrichment, and state contracts.

Working closely with division leadership, including the Administrative Operations Manager and Division Administrator, the analyst ensures accurate financial planning and execution in alignment with university policies and healthcare business practices. The role serves as a trusted advisor to faculty, fellows, and staff, providing expert guidance on fiscal matters, resolving complex financial issues, and facilitating smooth processing of travel, procurement, and reimbursement transactions.

As a subject matter expert in Workday and university financial systems, the analyst leads initiatives to improve fiscal workflows, enhance internal controls, and ensure compliance with institutional and external regulations. The position also contributes to strategic initiatives by preparing financial forecasts, analyzing budget impacts, and supporting decision-making with timely and accurate data.

This role requires a high level of professionalism, analytical acumen, and customer service orientation, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic academic medical environment. The analyst may also represent the division in cross-functional meetings and university-wide programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting or financial operations experience, preferably in a university or healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Workday financial systems.
