The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for all Quality Assurance testing. The QC Lab Technician will run analysis to ensure raw materials, process samples, and finished goods meet all specified requirements. The QC Lab Technician will participate in Manufacturing Excellence (ME) projects and implementations of ME tools for Continuous Improvement. Completion of all safety and quality requirements is an essential part of the role. Job Responsibilities: 1) Provide on-shift support to Operations by testing in process samples for Quality Control during manufacturing. 2) The QC Lab Technicians ensure products meet sales specifications for Quality Assurance purposes. 3) The QC Lab Technicians test wastewater samples for permit compliance. 4) The QC Lab Technician ships samples to support business needs. 5) The QC Lab Technicians maintain retain samples of each batch of product that is produced at the Lakeland Plant, then disposes or reworks samples when they are past shelf life. 6) The QC Lab Technicians monitor plant alarms and informs shift personnel when they occur. Detailed role expectations are: * Perform required analysis on in-process materials, final products, and other samples as required in an accurate and timely fashion. * Record data in the lab computer system for all types of samples. * Operate all existing instruments and learn to operate new instruments. * Perform verifications on lab instruments. * Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on instruments. * Work with other members of team to improve "shift to shift" consistency, testing quality and reproducibility, and safety. * Fill in for other technicians when needed. * Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area, and inventories of needed supplies. * Package and ship hazardous and nonhazardous samples. IATA certification must be maintained. * Perform weekly safety shower inspections. * Perform other tasks as needed. * Perform inventory of Laboratory Supplies, determines reorder points and orders laboratory supplies. * Schedules Calibrations of Laboratory Instruments. Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Minimum Qualifications: * Must be highly safety conscious. * Ability to work both independently and as a team. * Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. * Able to complete all tasks in a timely manner. * Good verbal and written communications. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Requires good analytical skills to interpret data, understand QC procedures, and evaluate results. * Ability to perform basic math skills. * Knowledge of Word and Excel. SAP systems is a plus. * Physical: Walking, standing 90% of time, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting of 50 lbs. * Must be flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
