This role is a hybrid position
Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston office.

The Core FP&A team are the consolidators and storytellers of Sonos financials, partnering with teams throughout the organization to deliver actionable insights and analysis to our most senior leaders. We lead the FP&A organization in planning, forecasting and reporting by designing the processes and tools to facilitate these activities and are continuously looking for ways to improve the same. This role will report to the Director, Core FP&A.

What You'll Do

The Core FP&A team is looking for a high performer who can run our Core OpEx and Consolidations function. We are looking for someone to join our team who is highly motivated, curious and excited about reporting, data and process improvements. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working for a company that lives its brand and delivers on its promise to create the ultimate home music experience Additionally, this person will:

  • Lead the Core OpEx team in the consolidation and storytelling of all OpEx and CapEx materials, in addition to overseeing finance business partner support for the FITTR team (Finance, Technology, and Total Rewards).

  • Develop, consolidate, and deliver executive ready reporting and storytelling of Sonos' full set of financial statements throughout the quarterly actuals and monthly forecast cycles, validating and ensuring the integrity of numbers and messaging being presented

  • Partner closely and cultivate trust with accounting, broader FP&A, FITTR business partners, and investor relations by delivering timely, accurate and insightful information about Sonos financial results. Work to develop a strong understanding of all areas of the business to ensure the use of meaningful data and assumptions in all deliverables.

  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to leverage data, systems and tools to continuously improve the speed and accuracy of our forecast process; drive forecast and reporting synergies, consistency in reporting and forecasting methodologies, and eliminate duplication of work across the organization.

  • Support CFO, IR, and FP&A and Accounting leadership throughout the external reporting / earnings cycle, including review of SEC filings and other workpapers for accuracy, content, and language, in addition to running various processes between FP&A and IR.

  • Own, drive, and evolve the financial forecasting calendar across the business, keeping key business partners aware of deliverables and holding teams accountable.

  • Lead and develop a small team of financial analysts to deliver high performance and impact to the organization; support prioritization, set objectives and provide mentorship and feedback.

  • Additional responsibilities may include preparing Board of Directors and Sonos Leadership Team presentations, supporting cash flow and balance sheet forecast and analysis, and other ad hoc projects.

What You'll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or similar field.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, accounting, investment banking, or consulting.

  • Experience with OpEx, CapEx, and P&L Consolidations

  • Experience managing people.

  • Get it right the first time mentality with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at using visuals to tell stories.

  • Advanced proficiency in modeling and financial analysis using tools like Excel.

  • Proactive communication style.

  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and experience communicating with or presenting to people at all levels of the organization, including CFO.

  • Qualified applicants must be able to work from the Boston office location at least 2-3x per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, FP&A or accounting for a consumer-facing discretionary goods business. (i.e. consumer electronics, DTC and/ or other retail).

  • Experience with Anaplan or other financial planning software.

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or Analytics for Office (AO).

  • Experience using Tableau (data visualization tool), SQL.

  • Experience using AI productivity tools.

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is:

$139,000 and $173,800

The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate's geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience. We apply geographic pay differentials based on the cost of labor in the market. Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of the range. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
