POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Director, Foundation, has the primary responsibility to develop and execute the Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation's strategy, which supports Lighthouse Credit Union's mission to enrich and nourish the lives of others in our communities. The Executive Director, Foundation will transform the existing Foundation and enhance strategic community involvement in areas such as food insecurity, access to affordable housing, and educational support. The Executive Director, Foundation establishes relationships with key community leaders to fully develop Foundation programs and sustain funding. The position will develop and direct all external fundraising activities through outreach and the development of business and community donor prospects. Additionally, it will grow, organize, and direct milestone fundraising events to maximize resources and community impact. The Executive Director, Foundation oversees financial records and manages budgeting and reporting to ensure responsible stewardship of donor contributions, maximizing the effect of funds directed toward the foundation's strategic priorities. The Executive Director, Foundation partners with Lighthouse Credit Union's Foundation Board, Executive Leaders, and Marketing to guide donor development and community relations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Establishes relationships with community leaders to fully develop Foundation programs and sustain funding. Builds, manages, and maintains a portfolio of donors and prospects. Develops individual donor strategies for cultivation and solicitation. * Develops, organizes, and directs fundraising events to maximize resources and community impact. Executes fundraising and engagement campaigns that increase donor participation and annual donations. Collaborates with Marketing to create engaging content for annual and special fundraising campaigns, including yearly solicitations and campaigns. Solicits donors for fundraising campaigns, including matching gift campaigns and board-led initiatives. * Oversees and leads the Foundation's Advancement Director and the supporting team, providing consistent individual guidance, establishing performance objectives, and delivering ongoing feedback and support. * Responsible for oversight of financial records, donor and grant reporting, and budgets. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS * Strategic Thinking & Vision: Ability to see the big picture, identify long-term opportunities, and align programs to mission and strategy. * Fundraising Acumen: Demonstrated ability to secure funding and build lasting donor relationships. * Community Orientation: Passion for community service and ability to connect authentically with diverse populations. * Collaboration & Influence: Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external partners. * Communication: Excellent public speaking, writing, and storytelling skills to effectively convey impact and mission. * Financial & Operational Acumen: Competence in managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational plans. * Innovation & Initiative: Creative thinker with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE * 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a nonprofit, for-profit, foundation, or mission-driven organization, including board engagement and fundraising. * Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred in nonprofit management, public administration, business, or a related field. * Extensive experience working with senior management, risk committees, and regulatory bodies. * Experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects. * Proven success in strategic planning, program development, and stakeholder engagement. * Deep understanding of community development, financial inclusion, and social impact work. * Experience managing budgets and overseeing grantmaking or philanthropic initiatives. WORK ARRANGEMENT: The working arrangement for this position is hybrid. Hybrid work presents an opportunity to strike the right balance between working in the office and remotely, particularly when it supports both individual success and the needs of our organization.
