Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance/ Infusion Registered Nurse at our Twain clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada. SCOPE:
Under general supervisor supports all activities associated with the development and implementation of quality and compliance projects. Assists with the implementation continuous quality improvement programs that are in partnership with third party payors. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age-specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide for the assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Performs audits to ensure quality and compliance standards are consistently met
- Assists in meeting regulatory and statutory requirements by providing standardized and
- customized statistical data.
- Responsible for trending, researching, analyzing and maintaining data bases for quality
- and compliance initiatives.
- Provide project support to the clinical governance council and QI committees
- Assists and supports the implementation of practice wide clinical quality initiatives and
- or PQE initiatives.
- Supports Compliance and Human Resources by assisting in training and in services
- Assist the sites in peer review and E & M audits and reporting and other audits as assigned
- Variance reporting trending
- Resolution of patient and customer service complaints, tracking HIPAA and Compliance training, auditing
- Assists in policy editing and revisions
- Researches and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Obtains assistance to resolve complex inquiries, in order to discuss and learn.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assesses health status by interviewing patients regarding their status and medical history.
- Collects and records nursing assessments and interventions.
- Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional
- Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administers all medications/blood products using the correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
- Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained before administration of therapies where
- Facilitates dose modification by assessing patients, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management
- Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
- Maintains accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Applies knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related healthcare, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in quality assurance, statistical analysis, or healthcare management.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel required.
