Our AVP of Client Engagement is responsible for setting the overall vision for Abarca's Client Success strategy, inclusive of implementations, re-implementations, business solutions, client operations and client engagement. A critical aspect of this role is operationalizing the vision and inculcating a consultative mindset and service-delivery orientation within the Team and throughout the organization. You'll also provide requisite visibility into client objectives and distilling operational and strategic priorities, in coordination with relevant functional areas. It'll be key that you continue developing a team that has breadth and depth knowledge in pharmacy benefit management, clients, our proprietary tools, and processes so that we can provide a consultative approach and the best service experience to our clients.

The fundamentals for the job...



  • Maintain a strong understanding of PBM Operations, Member Services, Pharmacy Networks, Fulfillment, Call Center, and Medicare Part D so you can provide the best solutions to clients and when possible, avoiding new enhancements/significant changes to our products, programs, and operations.
  • Oversee client relationships for all accounts by leveraging existing team, processes and data capabilities while intervening strategically in iterative decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Analytics to provide Client Advisors and clients with timely and informative data for decision-making.
  • Recruit, build and manage strong teams, for the delivery of both a full-service PBM offering and a SAAS partner.
  • Provide visibility on departmental deliverables, projects and processes related to the prioritization and delivery of client priorities.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients.
  • Identify service, program and product delivery opportunities for clients and championing or influencing other leaders to deliver.
  • Oversee all client implementations and re-implementations including oversight of scope, deliverables, and timelines as well as successful handoff to relevant functional areas.
  • Oversee implementation deployments with minimal defects and ensuring post-implementation efforts address outstanding items in a timely manner, with minimal client and/or member impact.
  • Partner with other leaders to identify improvement opportunities from a service delivery perspective.
  • Support new, potential client opportunities as a partner to the Business Development team as well as work closely with the SVP of PBM Operations, VP of Product and Abarca Technologies' CIO in the prioritization and execution of existing and prospective client priorities.



What we expect of you

The bold requirements...



  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree required in a related area (In lieu of a degree equivalent experience can be considered).
  • 12 year's experience in Medicare Operations, Client Management, Pharmaceutical Management and Project Management or other related experience, including experience leading teams.
  • Experience with PBM Operations including Member Services, Pharmacy Networks, Fulfillment, Call Center, and Medicare Part D.
  • Experience restructuring and building teams to align with business needs.
  • Experience ranking and prioritizing multiple business requests to ensure adequate deployment of resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only)
  • This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.
  • This position may require availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands (if applicable).

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
