Description
The College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin provides exemplary education, training, research, and professional development for Pharm.D. students, graduate students, and postgraduates to advance discovery, innovation, and patient care. To help advance this mission, we are seeking a distinguished applicant to fill one professional-track (non-tenure), clinical faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate (depending on qualifications) for a full-time Internal Medicine faculty position. This position is in Austin, Texas and will be co-funded (50/50) with Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin (ASMCA) and The College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin with a practice site at ASMCA. ASMCA in Austin, Texas, is a 500-bed hybrid community/academic facility. The hospital provides a wide variety of acute care including cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetric, heart transplantation and advanced critical care treatment including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas, have successfully completed a specialty practice residency in Internal Medicine, Pharmacotherapy, or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate effective teaching. The successful applicant will facilitate practice laboratories, provide classroom instruction, mentor, and supervise clinical clerkships for students in the Pharm.D. program. Clinical service supporting resident and Pharm.D. student education as well as the operational goals of ASMCA pharmacy is expected. While on-site at ASMCA, faculty members will be embedded in the de-centralized clinical pharmacy team and meet operational department expectations as appropriate. Faculty members will provide service to the college, hospital, university, and broader professional community. The primary practice focus of this position is adults admitted to academic and/or community inpatient internal medicine services. Candidates with a strong background in cardiology is preferred. The faculty member will be expected to supervise pharmacy students and residents to help them learn how to care for patients with acute and chronic conditions. The successful individual will have interests in developing interprofessional collaborations to advance pharmacy practice, research, and scholarship. Application Instructions
