State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking aWire Processorfor performing all tasks associated with processing outgoing and incoming wire transactions in a timely, highly accurate and efficient manner; the annual valuation of outgoing wires processed approximates $300,000,000.00. The Wire Processor is also responsible for ensuring tasks meet existing regulatory requirements, particularly those governed by BSA and OFAC regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Processes outgoing wire requests as received from members and organization accounts comprised of domestic, USD international and foreign currency international wires.
  • Performs manual data entry of wires not handled by robotic process and modifies bot-created wires as directed by Supervisor.
  • Assists with monitoring wire email box frequently throughout the day to ensure timely processing of same day requests by established cut-off time.
  • Ensures all outgoing wire requests are processed accurately and in a timely manner per established procedures. Ensures appropriate support documents are included in wire packet per established procedures, including Dodd Frank disclosures required for international wires initiated for members.
  • Works closely with other wire staff to ensure all approved/verified wire requests are processed timely to ensure established completion timeframes are met.
  • Ensures OFAC checks are run on 3rd party wire requests using appropriate software. Notifies management immediately of any OFAC matches for their follow-up and resolution.
  • Provides accurate quotes for foreign currency wire requests utilizing vendor's software, as requested by members or branch staff. Ensures requests are accurately processed in vendor's software, if rates are acceptable to member.
  • Utilizes Adobe to create and edit wire files and moves individual wire .pdf files between multiple folders established within shared network drive.
  • Maintains and monitors pending files relative to those wires awaiting return call for verification purposes and/or to obtain additional information needed to process request.
  • Ensures email confirmations are generated and sent to members who have requested them.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:



  • Minimum one to three years of customer service experience in a financial institution, or similar or related experience; or one year experience as a Wire Processor
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, with Associates Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, with significant attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work to meet established deadlines
  • Professional phone manner and ability to handle delicate situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with attention to grammar and composition
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers
  • Ability to work independently and regularly meet deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Accurate typing with reasonable speed
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as computer, printer, typewriter, calculator, photocopier, facsimile machine and scanner
  • Knowledge of computers and experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro
