Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Document Assistant in the Austin, Houston, New York or Wheeling offices.

In this entry-level role, the Document Assistant will assist attorneys and document coordinators in the Public Finance Department by performing tasks for the successful closing of various types of deals and transactions.


Responsibilities

  • Provide support for document coordinators including referencing and referring to client files.
  • Edit and revise transaction documents based on document coordinator and attorney requests.
  • Fill out forms and templates as directed by document coordinators and attorneys.
  • Take and keep notes/documentation of industry terminology and knowledge for use in the future.
  • Assist in clean up and document processing after transaction closings.
  • Provide support for completing transcripts and internal record-keeping.
  • Special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to juggle multiple assignments
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide consistent, high quality, client-ready output, with minimal supervision
  • Highly proficient in proofreading and is detail oriented
  • High technology aptitude and excellent computer skills in the full MS Office suite and Adobe
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • One or more years of work or educational experience with research- and writing-based responsibilities
  • Familiarity with the consumer financial services sector and prior experience in the legal industry preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between

  • New York City $43,000 - $63,550
  • National $32,000 - $49,000

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
