Job Description


This senior programmer develops, uses, modifies, maintains, and analyzes advanced software, data processing techniques and tools, troubleshoots, and utilizes data visualization techniques in support of vehicle testing. Directs retrieval of data and processes data from instrumentation type data acquisition units used during vehicle endurance and performance testing. Ensures proper tracking and storage of all test documentation and media. Assists in processing data relating to the measurements taken by test personnel on the test site. Troubleshoots data collection issues. Analyzes and filters data, retrieves positional data from video and performs other video processing, sets up decommutator parameters, and builds/operates telemetry displays. Uses data processing software like Trackeye, Simdis, Origin or Excel to process, analyze, and visualize data. Assists in all security matters pertaining to test data collection, display, and processing. Programs and troubleshoots data reduction and processing software. Develops data acquisition scripts, programs, and macros on instrumentation type data acquisition units. Directs small to large teams of technicians. Receives technical advice from more senior section chief, supervisor, test lead or engineer; work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions). Recommends software and solutions to complex data acquisition and analysis challenges. Configures and programs data acquisition systems to acquire data per test requirements. Mentors and trains junior technicians and programmers. Assists in developing SOPs and procedures. Performs Quality Assurance reviews. Meets with customers and test officers frequently to understand test requirements and recommend solutions. Acts as Chief when chief is unavailable. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications


Pay Rate:$43.62

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must have one of the following: a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or computer-related field AND 4 years' directly related experience, OR an Associate's degree in a technical or a Computer-related field AND 8 years directly related experience; OR 10 years directly related experience AND satisfactory completion of college level mathematics.

*When applicable, must have (or acquire within 6 months of hire) a Security+ Certification and a Computing Environment Certification, per Network Enterprise Center (NEC) requirements.

* Extensive experience developing and reviewing scripts and macros used in data processing.

*Extensive experience troubleshooting data acquisition issues relating to data collection and media storage.

*Experience in quality assurance procedures.

*Experience in data processing, data management, and networking.

Job Skills Requirements:



*Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

*Must be proficient in Origin, Trackeye, MATLAB, Simdis, or other similar data analysis software.

*Must possess the ability to quickly learn, use, and teach others to use various computer applications.

*Must demonstrate ability to communicate professionally with customers, government personnel, support, and management personnel while presenting a positive, customer-focused attitude.

*The ability to maintain accurate records; adhere to documented procedures, accurately read routine reports and correspondence, perform clerical functions as required, and work cooperatively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.

*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

*Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.

*Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching and stooping.

*Must be capable of sitting and performing continuous computer work on a daily basis.

*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Instrumentation Data.

*Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

*Master's degree in related field.

*Experience processing and visualizing instrumentation sensor data

*Experience with other software analysis programs

*Experience with data and data loggers used in vehicle testing

*Experience directing large teams

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:



*Must be a U.S. Citizen.

*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
