In the role of Senior Facility Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:
- Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
- Conduct inspection of civil, structural, and architectural components to ensure compliance with construction documents and industry standards
- Supervise and mentor junior field staff providing technical guidance and quality oversight as needed
- Collaborate with field representatives, contractors, engineers, and project managers to support efficient and timely execution of project scopes
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Adhere to the project document control processes including use of E-Builder platform
- Conduct and document thorough observations of ongoing construction activities, ensuring work aligns with approved plans and specifications
- Provide field supervision of construction work, ensuring adherence to contract documents, safety standards, environmental compliance, and best construction practices
- Lead project meetings with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of project issues
- Support and promote a strong jobsite safety culture, working with the team to ensure safe working environments throughout all phases of construction
- Oversee contractor operations from mobilization through execution and demobilization, monitoring conformance with quality control plans, project schedules, and risk mitigation strategies
- Actively report on construction schedules, budgets, and progress
- Evaluate risks, change orders, claims, and construction-related issues, providing analysis and recommendations to the client
- Support the development and implementation of start-up and commissioning plans in collaboration with engineers, owners, and contractors
- Monitor and oversee quality control, including materials testing, analysis, and reporting, to ensure conformance with project specifications and standards
- Serve as Field Engineer Inspector on projects as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience within water construction such as reservoirs, stormwater treatment areas, canals, gated culverts, hydraulic structures, and stormwater pump stations
- Relevant Industry Certifications
- Experience with E-Builder
- Ability to interpret construction schedules, drawings, and specifications
Required Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
