The Vice President of Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for architecting and executing a forward-thinking supply chain and procurement strategy that aligns with business goals and operational realities. This role drives excellence across planning, sourcing, procurement, production, and logistics by embedding advanced analytics, AI-powered tools, and disciplined SIOP practices. The VP leads master production scheduling, MRP-driven inventory optimization, and supplier performance management to ensure cost efficiency, service reliability, and quality compliance. Architect and execute a forward-leaning supply chain and procurement strategy aligned to business objectives and operational realities. Drive disciplined planning and purchasing behaviors by embedding advanced analytics and AI-powered tools into core SIOP, production planning, and forecasting routines. Own the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process - relentlessly aligning demand, supply, and financial outcomes. Lead master production scheduling to optimize capacity, labor, and material plans, leveraging predictive AI for scenario planning and decision-making. Maintain balanced production schedules that meet customer commitments while minimizing working capital deployment. Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across procurement, materials management, and inbound logistics. Select and manage suppliers using data-driven scorecards and predictive risk indicators to ensure performance on cost, quality, and OTIF delivery. Implement inventory optimization strategies (AI-assisted reorder points and safety stock models) to reduce excess stock and eliminate shortages. Design agile distribution and logistics networks that combine service excellence with cost efficiency. Oversee demand planning and supply alignment processes to ensure timely procurement and production based on MRP outputs. Ensure MRP-driven inventory levels are aligned with production schedules and capacity constraints to minimize waste and maximize throughput. Ensure procurement decisions are aligned with MRP outputs, inventory targets, and production schedules. Optimize warehousing and transportation through automation, routing algorithms, and KPI visibility. Champion "built-in" quality across the supply chain end-to-end, running from planning through delivery of materials - ensuring standards, audit readiness, and corrective actions and cross functional collaboration are part of daily behaviors. Ensure processes are in place and followed for communication and procurement of materials to avoid delays in trials and production. Ensure negotiations with suppliers drive best cost and best quality for Roskam materials. Understand market, material, and supply trends and be pro-active in addressing trends that impact our procurement of materials. Deliver annual budget commitments including year-over-year productivity and cost-reduction targets. Performs other duties as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's preferred). 15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership, including procurement, within a manufacturing environment, preferably food or contract manufacturing. Strong skills in building high-performance teams and developing teams. Strategic leader with the ability to balance long-term thinking and execution. Demonstrated experience implementing AI/ML or advanced planning technologies to improve forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and schedule adherence. Track record of building planning rigor and process discipline across cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities - able to influence at all levels. Expertise in supply chain systems (ERP, APS, MRP, TMS, WMS) and data-visualization tools.
