The Opportunity

As a Data Scientist and Statistician, you will contribute to advancing data science and statistical solutions across PT, with a focus on cell and gene therapy. Working closely with scientists, engineers, and business partners, you'll design experiments, analyze data, and build tools that generate insights, improve efficiency, and accelerate drug development.

What You'll Do

  • Provide statistical expertise and develop data science solutions to Pharma technical operations, including process development, analytical method development, commercial manufacturing and quality control for cell and gene therapy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key scientific and operational questions and define analytical approaches.

  • Design and execute studies that generate reliable data to support decision-making.

  • Undertake research using scientific approaches and state-of-art methodologies, including machine learning and AI, to analyze complex datasets.

  • Interpret results and communicate insights clearly, translating findings into actionable business and scientific recommendations.

  • Develop software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.

  • Keep current with emerging methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry trends through continuous learning and professional engagement.

Who You Are

  • You have a Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, data science, or relevant field.

  • At least 1 year experience in designing experiments (DOE), analysing complex datasets, and applying statistical methods to pharmaceutical technical development, particularly in cell and gene therapy.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with statistical techniques (e.g., linear mixed models) and tools such as R and JMP.

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (FDA, EMA), strong collaborative skills for working in multidisciplinary teams, and great communication skills for reporting and stakeholder liaison.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and high attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, keen on staying updated with new developments in statistics and data science, and passionate about continuous improvement and learning.

Relocation benefits are not available for this role

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of San Francisco, California is $122,300 - $227,100. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
