How You'll Contribute:


The Director of ESS-Engineering leads Diversified's Electronic Security Systems (ESS) engineering organization, overseeing process improvement, operational support, and cross-functional collaboration. This role ensures that design, project, and commissioning engineering functions meet quality, delivery, and internal client expectations across ESS scopes such as access control, video surveillance, and data infrastructure. The Director works closely with regional operations, service teams, and vendors to align engineering output with field realities and evolving standards. This is a leadership role focused on team performance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the ESS engineering lifecycle.


Location: Anywhere in the US.



What You'll Do:




  • Lead engineering initiatives within the ESS domain, including project delivery oversight, technical alignment, and process governance.
  • Direct continuous process improvement (CPI) efforts, including technical turnover reviews, QC audits, and trend analysis from field and service feedback.
  • Serve as a secondary point of escalation for project and service issues, guiding resolution and capturing insights for systemic improvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales Support, Design, Procurement, and Vendor teams to refine product choices, training programs, and deployment practices.
  • Coordinate vendor engagement, including intake management, training sessions, and technical support alignment for field teams.
  • Track team performance metrics related to utilization, quality, efficiency, and delivery, ensuring accountability and performance against objectives.
  • Govern adherence to engineering and program standards through documentation reviews, audits, and process compliance.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of ESS engineering standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Support operational coordination with regional leaders to ensure resource alignment, delivery readiness, and field handoff quality.
  • Represent ESS Engineering in enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic discussions related to delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.



What You'll Bring:


Education & Certifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Security Systems, Information Technology, or related field preferred.



Required Skills/Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in ESS systems design, integration, or engineering .
  • 5+ years of team leadership or engineering management experience.
  • Proven experience leading engineering efforts within ESS domains such as access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, project engineering processes, and field-to-office feedback loops.
  • Skilled in process improvement methodologies, technical governance, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage internal teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and drive strategic improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and lead engineering teams in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating enterprise-level technology training.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a focus on operational efficiency and documentation quality.



Preferred Skills/Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with platforms such as Lenel, CCure, Honeywell, Brivo, Milestone, ExacqVision, Eagle Eye, Axis, and Hanwha.
  • Experience with enterprise-level networking and IP-based ESS system architecture.
  • Industry certifications in access control or video surveillance (e.g., Lenel Onguard, Milestone, etc.) are a plus.


  • Experience managing multi-discipline technical teams and supporting regional or enterprise-scale project delivery.

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
