Salary Range: $49,250 - $70,000

Position Summary
The Business Intelligence Developer 1 is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise BI reports and dashboards. Leveraging data warehouse systems and data marts, the Business Intelligence Developer 1 will create actionable insights through IBM Cognos and Tableau reporting tools. The role involves close collaboration with the University's Collaboration Center stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users. Performs other duties as assigned.

*This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
Required Education and Experience
*Bachelor's degree
*2 years of related technical experience.
*Demonstrated expertise with IBM Cognos Analytics and Tableau.
*Experience modeling data sources using Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI datasets/semantic models, or IBM Cognos framework manager models.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Preferred Education and Experience
*Agile Development
*Familiarity with Higher Education application support/development.
*Experience with researching and diagnosing data inconsistencies
Required Skills and Abilities
*Basic ability to create PL/SQL queries and functions.
*Basic knowledge of using application database schemas, database objects, file system.structures, and tables and views to create complex joins that are optimized for performance.
*Constructing relationships with clients; know how to collect requirements and document use cases and processes.
*Take the initiative to learn about the environment, understand the tech stack, internal ITS process, and procedures.
*Ability to apply time management skills and manage your projects with minimal supervision.
*Be introspective and aware of both your own emotions and others', and respond appropriately; be willing to change.
*Communicate regularly with the team on work status.
*Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of individuals.
Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.
Essential Functions
*Design, develop, and support BI reports and dashboards using Cognos and Tableau reporting tools
*Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
*Utilize Oracle PL/SQL to query and manipulate data effectively.
*Document processes and maintain existing report inventories, dashboards, and data extracts.
*Analyze possible reporting alternatives about business need, costs, effectiveness, and information availability requirements
*Handle support tickets with assistance
