The Collegiate School seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced After School Program Coordinator and Middle School Assistant to serve within its Lower School. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in program administration within a school care setting with an ability to organize and plan effective programming. This position requires a growth mindset - a love of brainstorming ideas, collaborating, learning through feedback and always striving for excellence and growth. Additionally, the After School Program Coordinator and Middle School Assistant must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building and sustaining a diverse, just, inclusive, and equitable academic environment.

General Summary:

Under the general direction of the Head of Middle School and Head of Lower School, the After School Program Coordinator & Middle School Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily supervision, safety, and enrichment of students during Middle School lunch, recess, and Open Street activities, while also directing the After School Program. This role includes both student-facing responsibilities (direct supervision, engagement, and support) and program management responsibilities (recruiting and supervising after-school staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining program operations). The Associate works closely with school leadership, Human Resources, and the Business Office to ensure programs are well-run, inclusive, and aligned with the school's priorities.

Essential Duties:

After School Program Responsibilities

* Determine class offerings and develop a master schedule that reflects program priorities and coordinates with the school's master calendar.

* Assign class locations and prepare registration materials, coordinate registration.

* In collaboration with Human Resources, recruit, hire, and onboard all on-campus after-school teachers.

* Supervise and manage after-school program staff,

* Establish and maintain systems of communication among staff, parents, and students.

* Face to face contact with parents on a daily basis.

* Supervise the Extended Day program.

* Evaluate and improve the quality and operations of any off-campus vendors.

* In collaboration with the Business Office, set tuition rates for each class and prepare billing information on a regular schedule.

* In collaboration with the Business Office, determine faculty pay rates and prepare payroll information on a regular schedule.

* Manage student behavior according to school protocols.

* Perform related duties as assigned.

Middle School Responsibilities Lunch Coverage

* Supervise students during lunch to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment.

* Encourage positive interactions and inclusive seating practices.

* Support smooth transitions in and out of the lunchroom.

Recess Supervision

* Monitor students during recess, ensuring safe play and respectful behavior.

* Organize and encourage inclusive participation in games and activities.

* Apply restorative approaches when addressing conflict.

Open Street Monitor

* Supervise students during Open Streets programming, ensuring safe use of outdoor space.

* Assist with set-up and clean-up of equipment and materials.

* Reinforce school policies around safety and respect.

Other Duties as Assigned

* Provide support for school events, programs, and special activities as requested.

* Step in for coverage needs in collaboration with school leadership.

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.

* Experience working with children in a school, camp, or youth program setting.

* Background in child development, recreation, or education a plus.

Salary Range $55,000 - $70,000

Physical Conditions and Work Contacts:

Regularly required to supervise active students indoors and outdoors.

* Must be able to lift and move up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

* Exposure to varied weather conditions during outdoor supervision.
