The Electronics Technician - Rapid PCBA is a member of our technician team in the Power Tool Electronics Laboratory. Your main responsibility will be populating printed circuit boards to deliver Electronic Prototypes on time, with high quality and with a continuous improvement mindset.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform precision rework and repairof PCBAs, including component replacement and solder joint touch-up following IPC standards.
  • Support through-hole assembly tasks, including manual soldering, component preparation, and inspection, ensuring compliance with build documentation and quality standards.
  • Interpret and follow engineering change orders (ECOs), schematics, and assembly drawingsto execute rework and through-hole tasks accurately.
  • Utilize hand tools and soldering equipment(e.g., soldering irons, hot air rework stations, desoldering tools) safely and effectively.
  • Inspect and verify reworked assembliesusing magnification tools and visual inspection techniques to ensure workmanship meets IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Document rework activities and deviationsclearly and accurately in tracking systems or traveler documents.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teamsto resolve issues and provide feedback on design or process improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe work environment, adhering to safety and handling protocols.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Associates Degree from a two-year college or technical school. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of operating soldering equipment typically used for both densely populated SMT circuits as well as wiring for power electronics.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • IPC knowledge.
  • Must be able to identify electronic components, polarity, values, etc.
  • Must be able to pass an in-person solder test.
  • Experience using and working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Manufacturing experience with Automated assembly and inspection equipment.
  • Experience working alongside engineers in an engineering/electronics lab.
