Internal Audit Department

The global Internal Audit (IA) department was established in the U.S. in mid-2021 and continues to expand globally. We focus on building strong business partnerships while delivering independent, objective assurance and advisory services, as well as facilitating the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

Position Overview

This role is based in Denver, Colorado, with a flexible work arrangement: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.

Vantage is seeking a motivated, meticulous, and hands-onDirector, Internal Audit Information Technology, Global. This leadership role will primarily focus on IT audit, cybersecurity, and technology risk & assurance while also supplying to financial, operational, and compliance audits. This role ensures the effectiveness of IT controls, identifies technology-related risks, and provides strategic insights, with a strong emphasis on using data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and perform IT-focused audit and consulting projects, including risk assessments, ITGC and automated controls testing, cybersecurity risk evaluations, cloud security reviews, and system implementation audits.

  • Document IT and business process flows, identifying key technology risks and related controls.

  • Partner with IT, cybersecurity, and data governance teams to ensure alignment with leading practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Write compelling, clear audit reports and present findings to IT and executive partners.

  • Conduct effective meetings with senior IT and business leaders, including CIO and CISO-level executives.

  • Design and implement data-driven audit methodologies using tools such as ACL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or SQL.

  • Develop and deploy robotic process automation (RPA) and continuous auditing techniques to improve audit coverage and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with data science, IT, and business teams to find opportunities for automation and analytics in risk management.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and data governance frameworks.

  • Mentor and develop a team of auditors with skills in IT, analytics, and automation.

  • Stay informed on emerging technology risks (e.g., cybersecurity, data privacy, AI, third-party vendors, cloud security).

  • Support ERM program administration by assessing enterprise-wide technology and cyber risks and facilitating related workshops.

  • Contribute to department success, including audit planning, risk assessments, and AuditBoard (GRC tool) administration.

  • Self-manage audit timelines and deliverables, calling out roadblocks as needed.

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or equivalent experience required.

  • CISA, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent IT/cybersecurity certification strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant IT audit, cybersecurity, or risk management experience; public accounting or consulting experience preferred.

  • Experience with ITGC, SOX IT compliance, cloud environments, and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, COBIT) strongly preferred.

  • Background in real estate, construction, or data centers is a plus but not required.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance independence with partnership, influencing partners while maintaining objectivity.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.

  • Proven success operating in fast-paced, global, and complex business environments.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; proficiency with Word and Visio preferred.

  • Previous experience with AuditBoard or other GRC tools strongly preferred.

  • Domestic and international travel is expected (10-20%), with potential to increase as the business evolves.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $190,000-195,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
