Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.

The Senior Education Strategist is critical to CPG's mission of helping clients and members maximize the value of their benefits and services. This role designs and implements education strategies that empower B2C audiences (clergy, lay employees, beneficiaries) to take action in their best interest, and equips B2B audiences (administrators and vestry members) with the knowledge to administer CPG's benefits and programs effectively.
As the Sr. Education Strategist, you will shape the vision and strategy for external learning initiatives that drive action, impact, and engagement. You will translate organizational goals into clear learning objectives, design curricula that support behavior change, and set the roadmap for delivery across formats, including in-person events, webinars, eLearning, and podcasts. You will bring expertise in adult learning while leveraging emerging AI capabilities to accelerate program design and personalization. In this role, you will collaborate closely with content developers, client outreach partners, business and relationship teams, and the Education Experience & Delivery team to ensure every learning experience is purposeful, actionable, and measurable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Define the learning strategy for external audiences, aligning with business goals, measurable outcomes, and relationship-building opportunities
  • Lead and conduct needs analysis with stakeholders; segment audiences to identify gaps and design experiences that drive action (e.g., using benefits, preventive care, financial wellness)
  • Translate objectives into structured curricula, storyboards, and high-level outlines across in-person, virtual, and digital formats
  • Incorporate external thought leadership, tools, and services (e.g., Fidelity) into the education strategy
  • Leverage AI to design curricula, assessments, and learner pathways, while collaborating with developers who use AI to build engaging deliverables (eLearning, podcasts, webinars)
  • Partner with Client Outreach to align campaigns that promote participation and sustain engagement
  • Establish instructional design standards, and partner with colleagues to ensure learning experiences are consistent, high-quality, and grounded in adult learning best practices
  • Define and implement measurement plans, analyzing feedback and data to track effectiveness, engagement, and behavior change
  • Stay current on education trends, innovations in AI, learning technology, and adult learning theory, applying best practices to continuously improve education delivery
  • Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration

  • Ability to align education initiatives with corporate goals and think critically about improving engagement and outcomes
  • Effective both individually and in teams, with a clear understanding of team dynamics and the ability to influence and model high-level team behavior
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong curricula design skills, with experience tailoring materials to different audiences and creating engaging, action-oriented content
  • Knowledge of learning technologies and emerging tools (including AI) in the design and development of education programs
  • Strong relationship management and consultative abilities; experience with both B2B and B2C clients is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills-clear writing, strong presentation, confident interpersonal style that conveys competence, compassion, and energy
  • Awareness of current education trends, best practices, and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in education strategy, benefits education, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in education, business, communications, or a related field. Combination of work experience and education will be considered
  • Proven experience using data to analyze client journeys and evaluate the effectiveness of education events in driving actions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
Limited Travel could be required. Travel conditions may vary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
