Meijer is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for our Supply Chain Support team. This Site Reliability Engineer will be engaged early in the software development life cycle to build capabilities to enhance reliability and scalability. The primary goals of this model are: Reduce Mean Time To Detect (MTTD), Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR), increase system availability and reduce overall incidents. The SRE for Supply Chain will work with business product owners, developers, support, and quality analysts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of Agile software development.

Position allow flexible remote schedule working from home office with travel to corporate office as needed. Employee must reside in the Meijer six state footprint OR be willing to relocate to MI, IL, IN, OH, KY or WI for consideration. Fully remote requests outside of our footprint will NOT be considered.

Position is NOT eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you'll be doing (Responsibilities):

  • Meijer Supply Chain and Logistics applications support.
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and monitoring Azure cloud computing and back-end systems.
  • Drive initiatives specific to SRE and automation utilizing SRE and DevOps concepts and monitoring tools like AppInsights, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Developing SRE capabilities to meet SLI/SLO/SLA requirements.
  • Developing solutions in Microsoft Azure is required.
  • Designs, codes, tests, and implements automation using .NET or Java, Python, and any scripting technology following GIT process.
  • Coordinates structured walkthroughs and technical reviews ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Assists in the production support and maintenance of applications as needed.
  • Partners with the solution leads to design for new systems development, new package system evaluations and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Understanding APM tools and assist in the deployment of automation use cases.
  • Coordinates feasibility studies/proofs of concept to evaluate solutions.
  • Works with ITS Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure cloud-based systems and programs are secure.
  • Works within the ITIL framework and SAFe.
  • Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
  • Any SAFe certification or training preferred. ITIL Foundations certification or training preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a software engineer developing, building, testing, and deploying software
  • Experience working with monitoring tools like Dynatrace/ Splunk / Kibana/ NewRelic / AppInsights (requiring experience in some tools, not all tools)
  • Experience with automation tools using C#, Java, Python, Groovy or other scripting technology. Also, strong knowledge of database management and file access methods is desirable.
  • Experience in a cross-functional agile team is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and presentation skills.

The pay range for this position is listed below.

$67,000.00 - $102,000.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Your specific pay rate within this range will be based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team you'll be joining.
