LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION, ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP) DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY

This position is designed as Hybrid.

This position also requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history to be considered for this position.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in project management, business analysis, or systems/process analysis.

Substitution for Bachelor's degree: Relevant IT Associate's Degree.

OR

An Associate's degree and two years of related IT experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Related IT experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.

Overview

Under general supervision, coordinates and manages IT projects across the full project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, resources, and quality. Ensures effective communication, timely delivery, and alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations. This is the working-level position in the Project Manager classification series. Operates with general supervision to independently manage projects or work as part of a larger project implementation team. Responsible for coordinating tasks, managing risks, and driving successful execution of project deliverables. This class differs from the Project Manager-Adv classification in that incumbents of the latter can work independently or strongly contribute to team efforts relative to Project Manager tasks, and work requires minimal review prior to being considered presentable to upper management.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, monitor, and adjust project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
2. Track progress against milestones, identify and mitigate risks and issues, and escalate concerns as needed.
3. Assign and coordinate tasks among team members, ensuring accountability and adherence to timelines.
4. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, status updates, and post-project evaluations.
5. Manage stakeholder communication and engagement across departments, vendors, and external partners.
6. Support procurement activities, compliance reviews, and implementation of process improvements.
7. Provide coaching to project team members and facilitate training on project management practices and tools.
