Job Overview
:
Cullum & Brown, an Ingersoll Rand entity, is a trusted leader in industrial equipment distribution and service with over 135 years of expertise. We're seeking an Application Engineer to provide tactical sales support for our outside sales team, with a focus on the Air Solutions portfolio. In this role, you will deliver inside sales support through application assistance, specification review, pricing, and quote generation for complex engineered centrifugal compressors, rotary compressors, and related compressed air system components. You'll play a key role in driving growth by providing tactical sales and marketing support for our Engineered-to-Order products.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to the sales team in application/use of equipment through review of customer specification/requirements.
  • Identify drawings, documentation, and testing requirements or needs of customers.
  • Understand the requirements of customers in our key vertical markets to provide the sales channel clear direction for required scope of supply and product value positioning.
  • Create database of specials quotes in order to improve quote accuracy and speed.
  • Develop and communicate project/product scope requirements throughout the organization on complex engineered orders. Insure products supplied meet customer requirements.
  • Provide product technical guidance aligning customer requirements and needs for sales team and potential customers.
  • Provide product application and best in class quotations for complex engineered products including, delivery, and price for equipment.
  • Act as technical resource to support sales efforts on complex engineered orders. Participate in customer project kickoff meeting and customer visits.
  • Assist in booking order in the system for complex engineered products
  • Develop competitive and solutions strategies in conjunction with the sales teams to position Ingersoll Rand industrial air solutions in an effort to capture orders.
  • Responsible for providing sales team training on product through classroom or local training sessions that maximize effectiveness of our sales team and drive growth in market share.


Requirements
:


  • Bachelor's degree (Technical, Scientific or Engineering) with related experience required.
  • 2+ years of work experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines

  • Technical Expertise - Apply engineering knowledge to review specs, guide applications, and support complex air system solutions.
  • Sales Support - Deliver competitive quotes, application assistance, and value positioning to drive growth.

Pay Range: The base pay range for this role is $59,400-$91,500. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
