Position Purpose







The Manager of Digestive Health-Clinical serves as the direct clinical leader for the Endoscopy Department and Digestive Health Clinic. The manager requires a balance of clinical expertise in endoscopy and ambulatory clinics while also having a strong operational background. They oversee all daily clinical operations and are the subject matter experts in compliance, accreditation, safety, quality, patient experience, and scope of practice. Provides clinical oversight for all clinical staff in the department and develops and maintains an environment that supports clinical teams. In partnership with the operations lead, they provide oversight for financial and human resource management of the departments. Responsible to maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, APP's, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize workflows and patient care delivery.











Nature and Scope








1. Staff Management: Responsible for managing all clinical staff in the Endoscopy Department and Digestive Health Clinic. Including RN's, Endoscopy Technicians, and Associates.

2. Clinical Oversight:

a. Clinic: open access, triage, emergency management, clinical/medication protocols, infection control standards, training and on-boarding, and clinical decision making.

b. Endoscopy: Infection control standards in the endoscopy unit and reprocessing room, all accreditation and safety standards, medication adherence, training & onboarding, and emergency management.

3. Operational and Workflow Management: Manages day-to-day operations including efficiency, scheduling, adherence to policies, scope of practice, patient flow, and staff and resource allocation.

4. Quality & Safety: Developing, monitoring, and auditing all quality and safety metrics. Driving continuous improvement projects. Actively participates in quality assurance programs.

5. Patient care and Advocacy: Maintains a patient-centered approach and holds all team members accountable for being patient centric and adhering to all patient care protocols. Ensure all patients feel comfortable and confident with the care they receive.

6. Staff Development and Training: Mentors and develops all team members through clinical education and training as well as activities that foster growth and development. Provides both positive and constructive feedback

7. Financial Management: In collaboration with operations lead, manages a balanced budget and actively participates in efficiency and equipment standardization projects.

8. Collaboration: Effectively collaborates with staff, physicians, anesthesiologists, pathology, lab, ED, and other ancillary departments.

9. Accreditation: Leads team in activities that promote continual accreditation readiness. Effectively manages a high-quality team of staff that are knowledgeable and compliant in all accreditation standards, equipment IFU's, and Renown policies.

10. Equipment Maintenance: Manages all aspects of supply and equipment safety and utilization.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Participate in hospital and departmental committees as appointed.

2. Other activities as assigned.

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare, or related field preferred.



Experience:



Minimum of 3 years of experience in endoscopy, demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of endoscopic procedures.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in nursing, including administrative management responsibilities or previous experience as a Nursing Supervisor.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting, providing patient care and supporting outpatient services.



License(s):



Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license required at time of hire.



Certification(s):



Current ACLS certification by American Heart Association standards required at time of hire.



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer for online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
