Job Summary

McKesson has an opening for a Senior Analyst, Data Insights.

The Strategic Initiatives & Insights (SIx) team is seeking a Senior Analyst, Data Insights to support data-driven decision-making across all Supply Chain Operations (SCO), including Distribution Operations, Strategic Initiatives, Supply Chain Inventory Planning, Quality, Customer Experience Operations, Transportation, and Strategic Distribution. This position will report directly to the Director of Data Insights. Together with the data insights team, this role will help champion a culture of data-driven decision making across SCO.

This role will leverage knowledge of supply chain economics to support strategic decision-making based on end-to-end supply chain data, including distribution, transportation, purchasing, manufacturer contracts, customer contracts, and manufacturer master data. Collaborating closely with SCO leadership, the Data Insights team will identify new areas of opportunity and address complex business inquiries. Responsible for the development, analysis, and modeling of operational, economic, management, and other organizational data. Provides recommendation solutions to new and complex problems, develops innovative strategies, quantifies the competitive performance of the organization's operations, and evaluates the potential impact of changes.

The position will focus on automating processes and enhancing efficiency within the team, including defining business requirements, testing, and implementing solutions, and delivering immediate business needs such as automation, dashboards, and actionable insights. A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, proficiency in handling large datasets, designing intuitive solutions, applying critical thinking, and extracting insights for SCO and broader Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) leadership are crucial aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and SAP.

  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis to support immediate business needs.

Data Management

  • Collaborate with the Director of Data Insights to define business requirements for data solutions. Proactively engage stakeholders to clarify vague or incomplete business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across various datasets.

  • Assist in the automation of data processes to enhance efficiency. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with SCO leadership and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.

  • Act as a liaison between the SCO team and McKesson Technology (MT) teams to ensure effective communication and understanding of data structures.

  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Contribute to the evaluation of the potential impact of changes and new strategies.

Education & Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree in computer science, economics, supply chain, finance, or a related field.

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.

  • Expert in SQL, data modeling, data mining, and analytics.

  • Skilled with data visualization tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and SAP.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Inquisitive and imaginative mindset to connect diverse elements across the enterprise.

  • Exceptional business acumen and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical, healthcare industry, or life sciences sector.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain economics.

  • Python / object-oriented programming skills.

  • Master's degree in a related field.

Working Conditions

  • Able to travel domestically 5% of the time, if necessary.

  • Remote work environment - Ideal location is Irving, TX or near a McKesson hub location.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US unrestricted - This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,000 - $175,000
