POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: Aircraft Proposal Technical Writer DATE: September 2025

FLSA STATUS: Exempt DEPT: General Aviation/Sales

LOC: Delaware


POSITION SUMMARY: The Aircraft Proposal Technical Writer reports to the Director of Sales. Responsibilities include technical writing for proposals and contracts from inception of proposal request to approval stage, through the turnover to the RSM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Review RFQ's and Sales opportunities, interpret terms and conditions, pricing schedule details and coordination of requirements.
  2. Prepare and/or assist with proposal preparation in accordance with RFQ's/SOW's.
  3. Work with supervisors and managers for timely conclusion of contract/proposal inputs, provide advice concerning relevant issues and respond to proposal inquiries and resolve proposal related issues
  4. Consolidates writes or rewrites proposals; interprets customer guidelines to ensure compliance and confirms with Sales.
  5. Plans, arranges and participates in meetings to promote participation in the proposal process.
  6. Coordinates and disseminates information to staff on potential opportunities.
  7. Confers with and advises department staff on problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and proposal interpretation.
  8. Coordinates with Sales and internal parties to assemble correct statement of work including items such as maintenance due list, aircraft technical baseline configuration, functionality/integration needs/features for new systems/installation in a manner that supports quoting requirements.
  9. Identifies, develops and qualifies sourcing opportunities based on spend, value opportunity, risk and resource availability.
  10. Create quotes and establish pricing for Chapter 5 inspections etc. using Corridor.
  11. Maintain a high level of customer service (internal and external) by responding quickly to customer questions and inquiries.
  12. Work effectively and proactively with Sales and Service to ensure quotes are accurate, and skills/capabilities are present to handle the projects at hand.
  13. Work together with Sales Department and Operations departments to rectify customer issues, create quotes, assist Planning Department
  14. Handle paperwork in a timely and accurate manner (expense reports, quote requests, Monthly sales reports, etc.) Summarize daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly results in agreed-upon measured areas for coaching discussions with direct manager.
  15. Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.



SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree in business related field and two years administrative/coordinator program experience or, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  2. Strong Avionic knowledge of RW and FW aircraft preferred.
  3. Must possess a working knowledge of business/technical aviation, maintenance, Avionic manufacturers, and marketplace trends.
  4. Possess an ability to work in fast-pace and occasionally stressful environment while maintaining a high degree of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  5. Must be able to work off hours on occasion or as business demands
  6. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously: possess thorough organization to ensure that all details of each ongoing project are followed through and managed correctly.
  7. Must be proficient in MS Office Program and have prior experience in the creation of spreadsheets, quotes/customer letters, databases, and reports (Excel and Word).
  8. Experience or ability to thoroughly learn MRO software, such as Corridor. Previous Corridor experience a plus.
  9. Ability to work well with others in different departments, even when challenges arise (schedule, budget, etc.)
  10. Should hold excellent initiative and judgment to make recommendations for improvements in our processes and product offerings.
  11. Must be willing to undertake new responsibilities as business needs change.
  12. Presents self professionally and courteously with internal and external customers.
  13. Must be able to promote teamwork and accountability when reviewing proposal inputs among several stakeholders.
  14. Must be able to multi-task under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
  15. Must have strong attention to detail; have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  16. Must be able to focus on key tasks, prioritize duties, and manage multiple priorities.
  17. Excellent oral, written and computer based skills are required.
  18. Must have the ability to coordinate or conduct meetings with personnel, managers, customers, sales team and vendors.



Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.

Working Environment: The working environment is corporate office facility and shop floor. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
